A few weeks ago, a group of my friends and I headed to Holmdel, NJ for the Garden State Beer expo. Since we were 6 people and we wanted to have a good time and still be safe, we decided to rent a large vehicle and have a DD (Thank you Lindz). One friend took the helm on finding a rental vehicle. He decided to go with a minivan from a Rent-A-Wreck center.
Well, we got exactly what the name indicates. This van, now affectionately known as the $hittyvan, was nothing short of a wreck. The sliding door on the passenger side didn't open, the windows couldn't be opened in the back, there was a smell that could only be described as horrific, most of the interior was scratched or worn away and the carpet resembled something from an episode of CSI minus an actual chalk outline.
The kicker of the whole thing, was that after turning the car on, our driver discovered that a couple of the dashboard lights were on.
Did I say a couple, I meant ALL OF THEM!
Thankfully, we made it to the beer expo and back safely (thank you again Lindz) and enjoyed quite a laugh at the expense of this well maintained and customer friendly vehicle.
Below are more pictures of the van. They were taken by the friend who rented it and were pretty much used to make sure he wasn't charged for any additional damage to the vehicle (like that was possible) I am so sorry I was a little too buzzed to remember to take pictures of the interior that day.
