It's awards season and the first big one is out, with Volkswagen Passat taking Motor Trend's Car of the Year prize. We debate whether this was a deserving win.
What will win next year? Well, it might be one of the vehicles that is being unveiled this week at the Los Angeles auto show. We pick our favorites.
The Chevrolet Volt was last year's Car of the Year, but now there are some more questions about safety after a Volt with a leaking battery that had been crashed by the NHTSA burst into flames.
Jay Leno isn't worried. After 11 months and 11,000 miles he's used less than half a tank of gas in his Volt, which he drives most of the time.
Consumers might be buying more Volts in the future, both because they want vehicles with higher fuel economy and the government is mandating higher average numbers in 2025.
Perhaps biogas-powered motorcycles are the solution. Without the toilet.
And finally, getting home before the cops pull you over for DUI won't prevent the police from legally kicking in your door and arresting you.
